Thank you for considering Hales Australian Labradoodles in possibly getting your new family member from us. We are honored to be able to do what we love and share our fabulous Pampered Pooches with you. It is important to us that we provide you with a healthy, happy puppy. There is a lot of time and energy that goes into making sure that happens.

Having said that, it is important for you to understand that the schedule we follow and the timeline we try to stick to are subjected to change. Your flexibility and understanding are essential to us.

We are dealing with living breathing babies, and from time to time, puppy pictures, pick-up dates, shipping or travel dates, and vet appointments need to be rescheduled or were scheduled later than what we anticipated. We always put the health and wellbeing of our Pooches first. We completely understand that your time is valuable, and you have lives and schedules to manage as we do. Please know we do our absolute best at keeping these schedules and timelines but will not release a pup until it is safe to do so. Which is after the well puppy exam has been completed by the veterinarian, the week they go home.

Please keep in my the well-puppy exam is the last thing that is done before your puppy goes home and when the final clearance to go home is done. In most cases, all is well, and the pups are released on the scheduled release date. It is rare, but there are times when a puppy may not get cleared to leave or may need a follow-up appt. Again, we are dealing with Mother Nature, and at the end of the day, there are things that we cannot control. We do extensive health testing on all the different genetic disorders that can be tested for, including but not limited to Hips, Elbows, Patellas, Eye exams every 18 months, and DNA testing for PRA prcd, vWD, EIC, DM and a variety of others.

DNA testing is an absolute on knowing if that particular gene can be inherited. Because we do the testing, we can guarantee that our Pooches will not be affected by one of those genetic disorders. However, there are other genetic health issues that are not as simple and cannot be tested by using DNA. Hip and Elbow dysplasia are examples of health issues that can and will arise from time to time, despite having testing on the parents and many generations previously. You can have both parents tested with acceptable passing scores for their Hips or Elbows and not have the condition, but they can have offspring that inherit it, unlike a disease that had a DNA test.

The reason this can happen is some diseases are more complex and are considered a polygenic disorder/disease or condition. What that means is, it takes several genes to pair up, as well as environmental factors, to create the perfect storm and cause a pooch to develop an inherited condition. No one is immune or can predetermine if their offspring can develop Hip Dysplasia or any other polygenic disease, or autoimmune disease, despite the extensive testing done. All breeds have potential risk for HD except the Greyhound. If you want to be sure never to have HD in your pooch, get a greyhound. There is simply no way around it other than limiting the occurrence by testing. Testing reduces the probability but does not eliminate it completely. It is part of what we do and something we cannot change. We cannot predict who it will happen to, when it does or at what age it can happen. The percentages are low but still do crop up.

There are also congenital disorders that have nothing to do with genetics and are not inherited from the parents. There is simply nothing that can be done about that. It’s the same in all animals and humans and part of life. There is no rhyme or reason to why it occurred, just that it did. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee things that cannot be tested for, nor can we control when or if it is going to happen. Taking this risk is part of pets ownership and having children. You are not and cannot buy perfections with these things in life. If you are looking for a guarantee or will hold me accountable for things out of my control, I am not the breeder for you.

In addition to health issues, there can be minor cosmetic issues as well. A pup can have an underbite, overbite, base narrow canines, as well as other slight dental defects. Most will self-correct as the dog grows and the baby teeth fall out, and the adult teeth come in. The same goes for an umbilical hernia, or a retained or undescended testicle. A pup may have a minor hernia but closes over time on its own, or it might not and would need to be closed at the spay/neuter appointment, same for the undescended testicle.

It is important to go into pet ownership with realistic expectations. Puppies are an amazing thing, but they are also a lot of work. I can give you a great puppy, but it’s up to you to make it a great dog. Training and consistency are key. I have no control or influence over the growth and mental development of your puppy once you walk out of my door. You truly get what you put in when raising and owning a pooch. Be sure you are ready to hire a trainer and put in the time needed early on to set a firm foundation, in raising your new family member.

Unfortunately, sometimes that does not always work out. My policies and strict visiting schedule are just one of the many things I do to protect the wellbeing of your future Australian Labradoodle puppy. Just remember the quality of my dogs and my long-standing reputation is all part of what you get here at Hale’s Australian Labradoodle’s. Your patience and understanding are greatly appreciated.

Puppy selections/allocations are made at 6 weeks when the puppies are more developed in their coat, size, and temperament, which is about 6 weeks of age. I do not allow drop-in or unscheduled appointments. The puppies cannot be viewed or visited prior to 8 weeks of age and pick up. We take the utmost care in caring for our pampered pooch puppies. Having visitors in and out not only compromises the health and wellbeing of your puppy but possibly the health and wellbeing of someone else’s.

  • Puppy Information on training your doodle, grooming, socializing, and a small sample of food from Bixbi.  We only feed our dogs top-quality dog food. This ensures healthy skin and coat. It also ensures proper growth and nutrition from the balance of various vitamins, proteins, and fats.

  • We make every possible attempt to provide you with a healthy puppy to be your forever companion. We go over and above on health testing our breeding dogs and take great pride in utilizing the latest health testing that is available to us as screening tools for a variety of genetic diseases and conditions. Despite extensive health testing and careful breeding selections, there are medical issues that cannot be tested for and cannot be foreseen. Congenital Conditions (conditions that are not genetic or hereditary) are not covered under your health warranty as they are out of our control. We do everything within our control to provide you with the healthiest and happiest Pampered Pooches here at Hale’s Australian Labradoodles. By reading this, you acknowledge that you have read and understood that our health warranty covers inherited genetic disorders only. Again, we do everything within our control to provide you with the healthiest and happiest Pampered Pooches we can, here at Hale’s Australian Labradoodles.

All puppies must be picked up on the scheduled pick-up date which is when the puppies are 8 weeks old. This date is set when the litter is born and emailed to you with the litter announcement. We do not have night or weekend appointments available. If the puppy cannot be picked up at the 8-week pick-up date, a charge of $50.00 per day will be charged. This fee is applied to the proper care and feeding of your new puppy. If this service is required, prior arrangements must be made. We are not always available for extended puppy care. Please plan your puppy pick-up accordingly.

We will send you a litter announcement once the puppies are born and email updates during the puppy’s first 8 weeks. Puppy selection and allocation are scheduled when the puppy is about 6 weeks old, via email. We require that the puppy be paid for in full when your puppy is selected- allocated. You cannot pay for your puppy on the day of pick-up. All the paperwork needs to be completed in advance. If said puppy is not paid for in full by the due date, the deposit is forfeited, and the pup will be made available to the next family on our waiting list unless prior arrangements have been made. Remember, reservation fees are non-refundable. We will ship the dog or fly with it accompanied, at the buyer’s expense, (if required), and our schedule allows it. Please confirm in advance this is an option for you and your pup.

Payment methods and deposits can be made on our Prices Page. Acceptable payment methods are: Bank transfer with Quickbooks Invoice, Credit Card, Cash, Money Orders, or Cashiers Check. If credit cards are used a 3% convenience fee is added to your total.
